A professional Opinel knife designed for mushroom pickers, perfect for harvesting and cleaning mushrooms. The contoured sickle-shaped blade allows for precise cutting, and the brush at the end of the handle makes it easy to remove soil and conifer needles. A practical tool for every forest lover.
The knife blade is made of stainless steel and polished to a stylish, semi-matt finish. The use of a full flat grind, similar to a zero-grind finish, combined with the blade’s slim thickness, translates into high cutting efficiency. This solution facilitates the precise separation of mushrooms from the ground without the risk of damaging them.
In the open position, the blade is secured by a Virobloc lock patented in 1955. This mechanism is based on a steel ring mounted on the handle, right next to the blade’s pivot point. When the knife is unfolded, the ring must be rotated a few degrees to cover the slot in the handle, preventing the blade from moving. The blade can be locked in the closed position in the same way, preventing accidental opening. The knife is easy to unfold thanks to a special notch on the blade, similar to that found on Victorinox models.
